Matthew Hurley joined BENCOR/MidAmerica, a U.S. Retirement & Benefits Partners partner firm, in September 2022 as a Sales Director for the Northeast region. His primary responsibility is to educate state and local governmental organizations on the benefits of HRA, Special Pay, and FICA Alternative Plans. He assists school districts, police organizations, fire districts, counties, cities, and towns in realizing the financial benefits of implementing these BENCOR/MidAmerica plans. Matthew is focused on delivering superior personal service to the people who help protect and serve our communities while simultaneously helping them retire with dignity.
Prior to joining BENCOR/MidAmerica, Matthew was a Senior Legal Analyst for Serco, Inc. for nearly 8 years supporting the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB) contract. The FRTIB administers the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), the largest U.S. Retirement plan with 6.7 million participants and over $780 billion in assets under management. Matthew also has a distinguished past with over 20 years in solution sales including many awards and accolades such as Years Best IT Solution from the National Association of Counties and the Wellness Warrior Award from Serco for the Financial pillar of health in 2019.
Matthew is passionate about being a servant leader, life-long learner, and a culture creator. When not at work, Matthew is a dedicated father to his three children and enjoys playing soccer, tennis, golf, and snowboarding. Matthew is actively involved in community service and volunteering. He donates his time to Embry Rucker Shelter and FACETS focusing on food scarcity. He also volunteers at local blood drives with INOVA and Children’s National Hospital. Matthew also supports Adopt-a-highway focusing on community trash cleanup all over the country.
