Download (.PDF)Hugh Bishop was the Co-Founder, President and CEO of Sarasota, Florida-based BENCOR, Inc., a subsidiary of U.S. Employee Benefits Services Group. Prior to becoming CEO in 2010, he served as BENCOR’s general counsel since 1990. In 2023, Mr. Bishop assumed the role of Chairman.
Mr. Bishop works with governmental agencies throughout the United States, assisting them and their legal counsel with the implementation of specialty pension plans and other employee benefit plans.
Mr. Bishop has been involved with plan design and implementation, and successfully gained IRS approval for BENCOR’s FICA Alternative Plans and Special Pay Plans since 1991 and 1996, respectively. He has assisted in the implementation of over 700 BENCOR FICA Alternative and Special Pay Plans in 32 states. Currently, there are over $1 billion under management in BENCOR’s plans.
He is a resident of Florida and a graduate of Emory University and the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville.
