Steve joined U.S. Retirement & Benefits Partners in September 2018 as a Managing Director of its Benefits division, U.S. Employee Benefits Services Group (USEBSG). Covering the California Territory, his responsibilities include working with clients and prospective clients to secure the best Employee Benefit Package strategy possible by utilizing all of the USRBP Partners within the California Territory to create a plan that best suits the client and their employees.
Steve started his financial career with Edward Jones as an Investment Advisor and quickly moved up into a management role with the company, which helped him transition to the California Territory Manager for Washington Mutual, working with the banking investment reps to help create investment strategies for banking customers.
Prior to joining USRBP, Steve was a top producing Benefits Broker with Arthur J. Gallagher Benefits Services and Interwest Insurance Services where he was able to work closely with Business Owners and Human Resource Managers in putting together Core employee benefits strategies that not only benefited the employees, but the company as well by offering the best plans available. He has also been the Senior Field Development Leader for Allstate Benefits where he was in charge of 13 states within the Western U.S. Territory working with companies to implement ancillary benefits programs (Accident, Cancer, Disability, etc.) within the company to cover employees on a payroll deduction platform.
Steve has been through several trainings on ACA Compliance and is able to help employers navigate through the very confusing ACA requirements that they must report and comply with. He also has a vast working knowledge of school district operations as he sat on his local school board (Rocklin Unified) for four terms and has helped school districts create Benefit strategies that helped districts save money on their Benefits packages. He is able to work collaboratively with the many different associations that are within a school district.
