From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Dughi was president and a member of the board of CitiStreet, a 50/50 joint venture between Citigroup and State Street Corp. At that time, CitiStreet was one of the largest global benefits companies in the United States, with 3,000 employees, more than 11 million participants, and more than $230 billion in assets under administration. ING acquired CitiStreet in July 2008.

In 1976, Mr. Dughi co-founded The Copeland Companies, which became a member of Citigroup. He was chairman and CEO for almost 30 years. As a national distribution firm and recordkeeper, the company was a leader in the public school (K-12), hospital, and governmental markets, as well as the mid-size 401(k) market. The national field sales organization consisted of 25 sales offices with more than 500 sales representatives. Through a partnership with school systems and the business community, students are provided with specialized curriculum as well as internships and mentoring in the identified disciplines (finance, information technology, hospitality, engineering & health services). The program was founded by Sandy Weill, the former head of Citigroup, and is now supported by a broad range of major corporations and foundations. Mr. Dughi also served as a member of the executive committee on the board of directors of Newark Academy and Blair Academy, both in New Jersey.
